Self Portraits

The children in Room 6 have been working on self portraits this term.

We started this process by sketching our faces in our sketch books and learning to put our features in the right place, then we added details such as eyelashes, eyebrows etc.

Next we went over the lines with black vivid. Finally we used water pastels to colour our portraits. We had to think carefully about which colours to use to match our skin, eyes, mouth and hair.

                                                   Check them out...

Principal's Awards Assembly

It is nearly the end of the term! What a busy term it has been.  All of the amazing students in Year 6 have settled really well and have adapted to the routines and expectations of school life! Ka rawe :)

Yesterday we had our Principal's Awards Assembly where those students who have been outstanding at showing our values, the 3R's, are recognised. Penaia and Eva both received these certificates yesterday.  Ka pai mahi korua!  Keep up the great work :)

The Principal's Award is given to the student who has worked hard to achieve their personal best in all areas of learning as well as consistent academic achievement and a positive attitude towards learning for the term. The recipient of the Principal's Award in Room 6 for Term 1 was Madina! Tino pai Madina, keep up the good work :)
